Construction Stages of Advert

This was the first stage of producing my magazine advert, this first layer has been adapted in various ways to help fit with wanted I wanted to archieve. The levels of he image have been manipulated to create this black and white effect which is a recurring theme throughout the music magazine, video and digipack. I also erased some items from the image which I believed would have an effect on the look I was wanting.

After I had changed my image iun the first stages of the production. It was now time to take into account the general conventions of adverts. By adding the NME review it allows the audience to gain a knowledge of how they rated it. Nme is a magazine which aims tat the same audiecne in which I am aiming to, they concentrate on the genre of Indie which my music is. So by using this review its suitable for audience aswell as fitting into the conventions of a real media product.

Once I had included conventions of a real media music magazine, such as the NME review and a logo for a record label, which symbolises which label the artist is from. I could now place a band name and the title of the release. I chose the top of the page becuase this is where I knew it would stand out the most and catch the audiences eye. By using the contrasting colours of black text and white background. The name of the band is slightly larger font, making it be clear to the audience.

I placed the bands website at the bottom of the page, making it available to the audience becuase if they seen this advert and were drawn into listening to the band, they could then go to this website and find out information about them, listen to music and find out when they can see them live. So this helps promote the band even more.

Finally, I placed a release date on the advert to indicate when the music will be available. This again keeps to the same font all the way through the advert, keeping to the campaign. This was in different colours again, contrasting with the background of black, using a white font. Making it stand out to the audience.

Construction Stages Of Digipack

First of all, In the construction of of my digipack I used an image to show the nostalgic look of the place that I was trying to achieve. By manipulating the image just like I did in my advert it could fit what I was trying to aim. The changing of levels really helped me gain thsi black and white effect on the image, and by having a clear white space allowed me to place my text their.

Once I had the image I wanted ofr my front cover of my digipack, I then started to add the text and other key general coventions. The text which I added has used the same font throughout the advert and digipack, keeping to that certain theme. I also ncluded conventiuons of digipacks, which include the record label, which can also be seen on the advert and a parental warning as some music may feature inappropriate content. Both of these features had been seen in real media products.

Next I placed the image which would be on the back of my CD. This included an image which had been changed to suit the campaign. It also is in the same setting as the music advert and music video, so that theme is re-occuring throughout, helping contribute again to that theme of nostalgia and setting.

Once the image had been changed to suit the digipack, I placed the text of the title of the release at the top of the cover, making it clear to the buyer the name of the CD. This again keeps to the same font as the advert and the rest of the digipack. I also placed another convention which I didn't use in the advert on the back of the digipack, this was a copyright logo and description which was a repetitive feature of many digipacks.

The inside of my digipack contained a final image in which contained the setting once again, which had been shown throughout. It also contained the names of all the band memebers, which had been shown through my research of other CD's that this a convention of the inside. The font again fitting fitting the campaign once again.

First Draft Of Digipack

First of all, I created a mock up design of my digipack. This enabled me to understand what the layout was like and the images I would be able to work with. My initial plans changed once I decided to change my images. My using photoshop to creat this it helped me understand how it worked and what I needed to do to get the images just like I wanted them to fit the theme of the band.
